The song was released from Katy's latest album, Prism.  It was written by Katy Perry along with Lukasz Gottwald, Max Martin, and Henry Walter.  Katy thinks that it's a universal love song that everyone's gonna be able to relate to no matter the age, no matter male or female.

One day she spoke about the song's meaning.  She said: "It's not only about those different varieties of loves, it's about when you are in love with someone and there is full acceptance.  The highs and the lows.  The zits. The smells. All the flaws, you know?  Sometimes I remember being scared to be accepted in relationships and I know that everybody else goes through that and, 'Will they love my true self?  Will they love all the things that I do when nobody's looking?"  Perry added: "You know because we are weirdoes.  We pick our nose and we make disgusting noises with our body and we're not always the most presentable things but someone's gotta love us and it's about that unconditional love.  It's about that high, almost spiritual type of love."

When first I listened to "Unconditionally", I totally fall in love with it, because of  the awesome melody and the touchable lyric. It doesn't have too many difficult words to understand.  So you can easily know what the song means.  Unconditionally means that you love someone without any reason and you love his or her all.  No matter how many flaws he or she has, you still love and fully accept the person.  Simply speaking, you do love the person's true self without any reason and you think the love is worthy.  This is the high and spiritual type of love just like Katy said. Have you ever loved someone unconditionally?  Maybe there are some people still not.  But you must be loved unconditionally by someone, and that is your mothers.  For example, mothers will always love their children no matter what they do, no matter what kind of people they will be.  This is absolutely an unconditional love.  If you can understand what I am talking about, and you already know what is an unconditional love, you may love this song and it will be touched you.
