#7 Katy Perry-Unconditionally

Oh no, did I get too close?
Oh, did I almost see
What's really on the inside?
All your insecurities
All the dirty laundry
Never made me blink one time

Unconditional, unconditionally
I will love you unconditionally
There is no fear now
Let go and just be free
I will love you unconditionally

So come just as you are to me
Don't need apologies
Know that you are all worthy
I'll take your bad days with your good
Walk through the storm I would
I do it all because I love you
I love you l love you

Unconditional, unconditionally
I will love you unconditionally
There is no fear now
Let go and just be free
I will love you unconditionally

So open up your heart and just let it begin
Open up your heart and just let it begin
Open up your heart and just let it begin
Open up your heart

Acceptance is the key to be
To be truly free
Will you do the same for me?

Unconditional, unconditionally
I will love you unconditionally
And there is no fear now
Let go and just be free
'Cause I will love you unconditionally (oh yeah)

I will love you
I will love you
I will love you unconditionally
so i will love you unconditionally

Songfacts:
The song was released from Katy's latest album, Prism.  It was written by Katy Perry along with Lukasz Gottwald, Max Martin, and Henry Walter.  Katy thinks that it's a universal love song that everyone's gonna be able to relate to no matter the age, no matter male or female.
One day she spoke about the song's meaning.  She said: "It's not only about those different varieties of loves, it's about when you are in love with someone and there is full acceptance.  The highs and the lows.  The zits. The smells. All the flaws, you know?  Sometimes I remember being scared to be accepted in relationships and I know that everybody else goes through that and, 'Will they love my true self?  Will they love all the things that I do when nobody's looking?"  Perry added: "You know because we are weirdoes.  We pick our nose and we make disgusting noises with our body and we're not always the most presentable things but someone's gotta love us and it's about that unconditional love.  It's about that high, almost spiritual type of love."
By the way, this is her favorite songs in the album.  Because not only can it be a romantic, intimate song, but it can be about the type of love that a mother has when she sees her first child, or best friends or partners,"  Perry added. "It's a transcendent love, it's not just relationship status."

When first I listened to "Unconditionally", I totally fall in love with it, because of  the awesome melody and the touchable lyric. It doesn't have too many difficult words to understand.  So you can easily know what the song means.  Unconditionally means that you love someone without any reason and you love his or her all.  No matter how many flaws he or she has, you still love and fully accept the person.  Simply speaking, you do love the person's true self without any reason and you think the love is worthy.  This is the high and spiritual type of love just like Katy said. Have you ever loved someone unconditionally?  Maybe there are some people still not.  But you must be loved unconditionally by someone, and that is your mothers.  For example, mothers will always love their children no matter what they do, no matter what kind of people they will be.  This is absolutely an unconditional love.  If you can understand what I am talking about, and you already know what is an unconditional love, you may love this song and it will be touched you.

#6 Steve Jobs' talk

In the address, Jobs used three stories to tell all students who is gonna graduate from Standford that how to find what they wanna do, and just follow their hearts to do anything they wanna do. The first story tells us that someday we will know everything what we've learned are actually connected. Maybe we can't connect what we learned now, but we will know them how to be connected in the future when we look backward. Second, the story tells that we may lose many things in our whole life, but that is not a bad thing completely. When we lose something, it represents that we must get something back in the meantime. So it's not too awful. Just like that Jobs was fired by Apple, but he found what he really love to do. He devoted to do what he loved and kept doing all things which he was passionate about. Nevertheless, if you haven't found what you wanna do or love to do, just keep looking. You will definitely find it. In the last story, it's talk about death. Everyone must encounter the step of death, No one has ever escaped it. Life time is really short, don’t waste it living someone else’s life. All we need to do is follow our hearts and intuition. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your own inner voice. Because we already know that what kind of person we will be, everything else is not that important. This speech is really helpful for college students who still don't know what they wanna do, and how to do in the future. So do I. After listening to the speech, I have a little bit thought about my future. I treasure up Steve Jobs words.

#5: How do you like ESL Randall's Cyber Listening Lab as a language learning resource?

I love the website so much.  Because it's much useful for anyone who is really poor in English listening such as me.  In general, listening has more problems than other English skills for Taiwanese.  Because we already have practiced a lot of readings and grammar in our past school lives but less practiced in our listening skills.  Naturally our listening skills is relatively weak, so we must need more practicing in listening.  Before I know this website, I often used TED to train my listening. It's also a awesome website for listening but it's different from ESL Randall's Cyber Listening Lab. TED is harder, and the contents of TED are many kinds of speech.  It may make some people feel that is too hard to listen.  On the contrary, ESL Randall's Cyber Listening Lab's contents are more simple.  It divides into three levels, and most subjects are related to our daily lives. After doing the listening, you are going to have a small quiz about the content of listening, so you can test yourself and check the answer.  Then you will know how many points you can understand.  Since, I will recommend anyone who want to improve their listening skills this website.
